OMG!

I've just found out that SVS (Supernatural Video Station). is closing.

This has left me in a bit shocked and a little teary. It's such sad news.

I mean, I totally get it. The lovely dazzelbug has been running it for all these years and I suppose a time would always come she would no longer want to maintain and run it. It takes a lot of work and dedication. She's done an amazing job, along with loner_sock and the moderators over the years.

It's sad because this is the place my vidding grew up with. I remember posting one of my very first vids there and receiving helpful concrit. It gave me the confidence to continue vidding. I remember how I felt when I got my first Gold Award and won my first challenge. I remember being asked to become a Moderator and how nice that felt. I learned such a lot by being a mod. Stuff I will never forget.

And I'll never forget the great time I had.

I also made some very dear friends there. I know they aren't gone (in fact so many of them are here *hugs them*), but it feels like saying goodbye to a friend.

*sniff*

So long SVS. Thanks so much for EVERYTHING. You were are a big part of my vidding life. :(

Gosh, I didn't even know. I'm not a member there, but I have often swung by there when I was trying to locate a specific vid, or get some general vidding advise. I wasn't really expecting it to go away as long as SPN is still on the air. Is there nobody around to take it over?

It's come as a bit of a shock to us all. The site is very dear to a lot of people.

The owner (Kayla) doesn't wish for it to be taken over by any one. It's her baby so I suppose she gets to make the decision about that. I can appreciate that, but it's still very sad.

There's a lot of awesome info on that site also. I wouldn't mind finding a way to save the "help" info. A lot of it is very useful to vidders.

Another site might spring up. But even so, it'll be sad to say goodbye.
