So, there is a first for everything and this is the first time I've ever done anything like this and yay! it's kinda fun!

1) When did you first start viding?
I posted my first vid in April 2007 (scariest day in my life!) – so nearly a year. I’ve made 20 vids – posted 18.
2) What would you say was your inspiration or motivation to start doing it?
I started watching videos and there were some that really moved me and I could see the power a fanvid can have. Then, nearly every song I listened to made me picture a video. I just couldn’t get one song and its images out of my head and thought “damn it!” let's see what happens if I try this”. So I did and I found I loved it and well, the rest is history. (a couple of inspirational comments by other vidders helped too).
3) What do you or have you vided?
Only Supernatural.
4) Where do you draw your inspiration from for vids? Is it the song? An idea? Someone else?
Hmmm. Songs mostly. A couple have been from ideas. “Take me to the Hospital” was an idea first (then I searched for a song). Fan fiction is also a source of inspiration. (idea wise)
5) What was your favorite video to make or do?
“Take Me to the Hospital” was definitely the most fun to make because it was the first time using a new program. Every time I used it it was like “Wow – I can do this in here!!” That was exciting.
6) What was your least favorite video to make or do?
Definitely “It Never Stops”. After my program crashing, rebuilding the video pretty much from scratch (which took for ages) and no one watching it, it is one that makes me cringe when I think of it. I can’t even listen to that song anymore!
7) Which video are you most proud of?
Oh man. Even though my first one sucks I am so proud that I actually did that and had the courage to post it. Other than that probably “Supernatural Five-O”. Mostly because it’s purely editing – no special effects or anything and I look back on it and think “that wasn’t bad for one of my first vids” :)
8) What's the best feedback or comment you've ever gotten?
All feedback is a treasure and means a lot to me. But really a comment that I desperately needed at the time was from the lovely
deidre_c on “Power of Two” – she commented on the story telling which, considering the wonderful story teller she is, absolutely made my day.
9) What's your opinion on clip theft?
Why? That’s my question. If you are a vidder and proud of it why would you pinch someone else's material?! Makes no sense to me.
10) Favorite genre to vid to (comedy, angst, romance, drama, AU)?
Hands down – crack!vids. (when I can think of an idea!)
11) Favorite pairing(s)?
Even though I haven’t really done it - Sam/Dean. If I ever learn how to manip than that’s where I’m heading. :)
12) What just drives you up the wall when it comes to viding?
A few things – lack of inspiration, especially when I have rare viding time and my own lack of imagination and skills – especially when I know what I want a vid to look like but I just can’t make it happen!! Grrrr . Oh and the actual “clipping” part. Just plain boring.
13) Is viding a pastime, hobby or something to help gain experience to do more later in life?
Purely hobby. An addictive hobby at that. It’s just great fun. It allows the frustrated film maker to come out in me.
15) What is your latest project or idea for your next vid if your muse isn't dead?
Oh yes – I’m looking forward to starting this one (once I finish my current one that is). There are several TV theme tunes that I have been wanting to vid to so I’m going to make a compilation of songs in the style of a TV show (you know SPN does Starsky & Hutch!- that kinda thing) . \O/ Pure crack and man I hope it works!! (Especially “So you think you can dance!)
15) Finally, what kind of words of wisdom would you offer someone who wants to vid/ is a newbie?
Just do it. Give it a go – starting is actually not that hard. Download the episodes, get a viding program and away you go. There’s lots of online help for making vids.
For me it’s helped having a beta I can trust – I still lack a lot of confidence in my vids and it’s great having someone to pick up those little things – like storyline! (yeah - not so little!) And someone to say – “that rocks!” before you even post it.
Also –watch other videos! Watching vids helps you understand what you like and don’t like. It also shows you what can be achieved. More often than not I’m inspired by watching vids and it makes me want to try new things. I try to do something new each vid so I can improve my skillz.
All vidders on my flist will probably have been tagged by now. If not - it's YOUR turn!
