A very quick question...
Dec. 4th, 2010 07:32 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
regarding 6.10.
I'm probably being lazy by not re-watching, but I'm dashing out and this is really bothering me.. Answered! I'm slow on the uptake.../o\
Um.. what was that opening scene all about? I've obviously missed something crucial.. but.. Crowley tortured and killed himself? What...? I was left thinking that it was "real" Crowley in the chair and the other guy was impersonating him and I therefore thought that Crowley wasn't really Crowley throughout the episode. But he was ('cause his bones etc.) ... so...um... ARGHH... why can't my brain figure this out? Was he just bored and playing with himself... (sorry, that sounds a bit...um...)
My brain is all over the place with this ep, so I'm not going to post thoughts until I have some that may make an ounce of sense. Even then, they probably won't.

Date: 2010-12-04 03:43 pm (UTC)ADORED that Sam would eat his own flesh to save his brother. OMG! The things these boys do for each other!! <33
But... I just wish I could connect with this Sam. One minute I feel like I have a handle on him and the next... I just have no idea. I sometimes wonder if they are putting us in Dean's position - seeing Robo!Sam and just not knowing how to respond to him, how to work him out. I get that we're not supposed to but... (yes, I am repeating myself).. I miss Sammy soooooo much.
I think I might re-watch this one before I post thoughts.. :D :D

Date: 2010-12-04 03:50 pm (UTC)Contrast that with Samuel who is soul-intact and yet decided to sacrifice his grandsons.
And I will admit that the shameless part of me is hoping for epic amounts of h/c, possibly on a fanfiction.net level. I can't help it. I like what I like.
The scene between Dean and Samuel absolutely haunted me, with Dean warning Samuel about his family's Achilles heel. Despite his warning, I believe Dean would go back to that little cabin outside Cold Oak and come to the same decision.... again and again and again.
What parts confused you?

Date: 2010-12-05 12:24 am (UTC)Hmmm... I've been pondering what it was about that episode that left me feeling so... um... flat and out of sorts.
I'll probably try and put it into some sort of post when I can work it out. :) If I can.
One thing though...the end suggested that Castiel killed all the Alphas. Did I understand that correctly? If so... what was the point of the alpha story line if they are all dead now? Maybe (like my first question) I missed something..?

Date: 2010-12-05 12:29 am (UTC)I assumed it wasn't ALL the Alphas. Just those of which Crowley had captured. Plus some of the monsters weren't Alphas--like the girl!Djinn who Crowley was going to torture to get from her where HER Alpha was (I think?)
So there's likely more Alphas out in the wild (heh). But honestly I never got the Alpha storyline anyway. Nor why Purgatory was of any interest to Crowley (despite what he said his reasons were) and why the Alphas would even KNOW how to find it????

Date: 2010-12-05 06:01 am (UTC)You know what? That's a darn good point. I was already hating on Grandpa and calling him bad names in my review... but now I'm hating on him extra! He doesn't even have Soullessness as an excuse for being such a dink!
And Sam racing down the halls to get to Dean- that really did almost seem like caring to me *sniff* Then again, there were no smelly hippie girls to distract him this time so... I dunno. Deeply missing fully intact w/Soul Sammy.

Oh me too!! I would love that so much. I am desperate for some h/c at some point. *fingers crossed*
And yes to Samuel. I can't even begin to express my disappointment that he sold out his VERY MUCH ALIVE grandsons... :((

Date: 2010-12-04 10:41 pm (UTC)That was my exact initial thought! I mentioned hopping on my couch in my recap of it because I thought the Crowley of last season who could be helpful at times was coming back somehow to replace the mean and nasty ultimate adversary Crowley of this season. However, my mind then shifted (heh) to Alpha Shifter and how he always seemed to take on the form of whoever he was dealing with at the moment. So I stopped bouncing quite as hard on the couch...
(Still bounced a little though because hey... TWO Mark Sheppards! WOOT)
