Date: 2010-12-11 04:11 pm (UTC)I actually found the pacing pretty solid. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think mainly because I really loved Death and was completely engaged with all his scenes. As I was with Bobby and Sam.
But mostly it was (for me because of the way I have been reading Sam up until now...) it cemented why Sam has been acting the way he has up until now. Well at least in part.
But yeah - I am mostly beyond thrilled that AT LAST we might get some proper Sam story.
I suppose if I had a negative it would be that this episode came almost too suddenly. I think in 10 eps they could have prepared for this one a lot better.
I've typed up my proper ep reaction which I will post later - and that has mostly what I loved about the episode.
I'll go back and read your reaction better now. I made my comment straight off the ep and worried about that other thing instead of concentrating...
I think I'm still babbling..

Date: 2010-12-11 04:23 pm (UTC)And I just went back and read your review and I agree with a lot of what you said. Dean giving in so soon had me yelling at the screen (I did that a couple of times!)... but I could see how desperate he was to stop the chain of events, so I bought it. Sam's soul was very important but (and this is typical of Dean I think..) not for the sake of other people's lives.
Right... I think sleep now. Or maybe I'll unlock my review post... decisions, decisions...
