I heard this song as an intro for a podfic recording and it kept haunting me. It spoke to me of the fallout from supernatural encounters, not just for Sam and Dean but for the many others that cross their paths.
This song was written by James Blunt about the Kosovo War. I don't mean to trivialise the suffering of the people he sung about by making a fanvid to the song - I just felt it suited the people who inhabit the Supernatural universe.

You make us see more of what's inside ourselves that Show reflects back at us.
Not just what we identify with personally with the Brothers, but what we also see and identify with in the other characters that suffer from the Evil that enters into and affects their lives. Even though we may not have realized it at the time.
Yes, this is all about us. Life is. We define it. It also defines us.

And wow, thanks for such lovely feedback. The song is powerful in the way it talks about suffering. Even though it was specifically written for a war, it can be true for people's every day suffering. I think the Show works well to reflect that also.

Even from the very start I've loved how the viewer sits with each character for a time; the way you've been able to continue that, to shine a spotlight on each but also blend them within the greater narrative fabric is exceptional.
