Notes:

I heard this song as an intro for a podfic recording and it kept haunting me. It spoke to me of the fallout from supernatural encounters, not just for Sam and Dean but for the many others that cross their paths.

This song was written by James Blunt about the Kosovo War. I don't mean to trivialise the suffering of the people he sung about by making a fanvid to the song - I just felt it suited the people who inhabit the Supernatural universe.

I presume this is the angsty vid you posted about earlier? I knew it would be brilliant, and boy is it!

Very powerful stuff indeed, a lot of the fall out of the hunts regarding the victims of the MOTW is skirted over in he show, in favour of the boys storylines and emotion, and you brought their relatively untold stories to the forefront in a really emotional and heart breaking way.

From a technical/artistic perspective...guh. The little flashes of colour admist the black and white, like the explosion from the window and the blood from the crib was stunning!

So, yeah, beautiful job, well done! ♥

This is sooo heartbreaking, words don't really do it justic...


But still: I really loved Gordon in this. Especially as it is the moment just after he had killed his friend. That gives it such an edge.
As usual you chose unbelievably fitting clips and editet them perfectly to create a certain mood. Love the colour flash with the fire explosion. And the short change to colour at 1:24, 2:02 and 2:41. It does something to me emotionally but I can't explain it. Also love 2:07 with Luci like an overlay. It's chilling. And all that after you had such problems first to vid this! It's a killer vid in all it's sadness and hopelessnes. Extremely well done, hun! ♥

Yay.. for loving Gordon. I will never forget that moment in that episode. It gave us real insight into the character (credit to the actor I think..) - he may have not been such a nasty sort if he hadn't have had his early experience with the supernatural.

I'm so glad you liked the colour. It's the thing that took the longest to get right. I'm lucky to have betas who help me through this stuff.

Yes.. that was something I wanted from the start. I didn't want to end with any sense of hope. I mean, I know in most cases the boys "save the day".. but it still leaves people having had their lives changed through their supernatural experience.

DAMNNN. Our show is brutally painful when you put all the heartwretchingness of the last six years together! UGH, give me a minute, my heart is in my throat.

You did such a good job of collecting all the most raw heartbreaking moments of the show, big and small. In fact, I love the small moments best, I loved how many different characters you used here! The heartbreak of all the people SPN has seen over the years, secondaries and episodic characters mixed in with only sporadic moments from sam and dean. It amplifies their own pain without being so in your face with it, while not specifying it to just them. Broadens it to the pain of humanity. And they're just two more in the world experiencing it. Ending on the worst pain of them all, Dean on his knees in 522, ughhhhh, totally brutal. But effective!

Really interesting technique with the colors too! Did you do that as a focus mediator? ‘Cause it definitely got my attention! My favorite though was your first clip. The little kid’s hand through the bars of the cage? Friggin haunting as hell imagery, and a PERFECT set-up for the rest of your vid!

Lastly, you made me totally forget James Blunt was singing, so that's proof of your magic working right there! ;)

Yes.. our Show is incredibly painful. I can't believe how many times I'm left with a lump in my throat.

I was particularly interested in wrapping Sam and Dean's pain and sorrow in amongst everyone else's. We know their story so I didn't really want to rehash that hence putting them in along side everyone else. But yeah, I wanted to show they aren't the only ones suffering in this universe.

Thank you for asking about the colour. Out of everything this was the area I struggled with the most. Well... the thing I seemed to tweak forever. I wanted the starkness that B&W gives but there were moments that begged colour. So I knew I wanted it in there somewhere - making those moments less random and more telling became then tricky thing. For me the colour became an indication of where he "had been..". I also wanted the fire to stand out to link the notion that fire played a big part in some of the characters sorrow as well.

Arghh.. sorry. I blabbed. I spent a lot of time _sharvie_ working out the colouring of the vid. :)
