I can't answer your poll becauce from the way I've understood the episode, Dean adn Sam were Jensen and Jared in the AU. They had not taken the place of anybody, they were those two actors who didn't even speak to each other. So Jared and jensen were nowhere, they were in their AU.
I hope I'm mamking sense, but this interpretation fits with the running gag about the talking/not talking and most importantly with the fact that Sam says in the end that they are *brothers* in their universe.
I think that's probably what I meant by "they don't exist"... in that Sam and Dean become Jared and Jensen in the alter'verse.
Though it might be different because my sense is that everything around them as been designed by the angels for Sam and Dean to exist in. I particularly like that Balty is responsible for making "castiel" whiney.
I don't see that there ever was a Jared and Jensen... only what the angels have made the characters around them....um... see Sam and Dean as JAred and Jensen...
