ash48HOMG!! That episode!!! I can't EVEN! See…SEE THAT??!! That's why SHOW IS AWESOME!
I am going to randomly SQUEE because…. DID YOU SEE THAT!?!!
Where do I even start?! I'm going to just randomly ramble because…. HELL YEAH!!
COUNTING THE WAYS!
1. BOYS COMMUNICATING THROUGH TIME?!?! a;slksa;daks;dalsk;l! They are SO IN TUNE WITH EACH OTHER! LOVES! *dies*
2. SHERIFF MILLS!!! \o/ I love HER SO MUCH! That's who I'D turn friggin' gay for!!!
3. Ok. So. Here's the thing. I'm not terribly keen of the boys working with other people BUT if there were ever matches made in heaven (in terms of partnerships) it's Jody and Sam and Eliot Ness (OMFG! ) and Dean. \o/ <33333333
4. afajshda;f;ajalsdjfaslfdja;ls!!!!! ELIOT NESS!!! Are you kidding me?! The Untouchables is one of my all time fav films and KRYCEK PLAYED HIM??!?! *dies* He was SO perfect!
5. THE SCORE! The MUSIC was SPOT ON!!
6. THE LIGHTING!! GOD! the cinematography was TO DIE FOR! It was like watching a film. How do they do that on that kind of budget!?! SO SO AWESOME!! REDS AND YELLOWS AND LIGHT STREAMING ACROSS STUFF (yeah… I'll have to cap this…)
7. DEAN SLEPT WHERE SAM SLEPT! \o/ Just saying…. ;)
8. DEAN WAS AS HOT AS!! (How dare you challenge my Sam!girl!)
9. Ness called Dean a nancy!! LOVE IT!! (Yeah, yeah… see. Dean needs that. Dean NEEDS to know what he's doing is AWESOME and just get on with it *G*!!)
10. THE SCRIPT!! Concise, no messing around, awesome film references….just….SPOT ON!!!
11. SAMMY WANTS HIS BIG BRO BACK!!! OMG! His faces…. (and Jody UNDERSTANDS!)
12. Jodie's nearly crying face at the mention of Bobby! OH YES!
13. DEAN DEAN DEAN! Just…yeah. I love that you love being in the 40's. GOD! You looked soooo fine honey.
Time out. So. This ep was supposed to explain Dean's disappearing beer. And the 36 hour sleep. Did it? Not from where I'm sitting… What does it all mean!?!
14. DICK!! \o/ The lines in this episode. You're into Dick now?!! WHAT??!!!! Oh Show…. you keep playing with us!
15. THE SETS!! (geek, geek...) but SO wonderful.
16. I was actually biting my nails toward the end. I was so wrapped up in it!
17. SAMMY'S SMILE WHEN HE GOT THE NOTE!! \o/ \o/
18. Camera angles!! SEE THAT?! Awesome overhead shots and framing....very noir...:DD
19-100 = EVERYTHING ELSE! \o/ (seriously.... costumes, signage, light fixtures, Jodie, ELIOT FUCKING NESS, "awesome", *happy sigh*)
Yep. You can see I ADORED this episode. Best yet?! Hmmm.. maybe. Might not beat the bromance eps but for EVERYTHING ELSE?! Yeah. Class, CLASS episode.

Date: 2012-01-14 01:19 pm (UTC)Seriously this was a really well done episode the likes of which had me thinking how do they do this on budget? Honestly it was like a mini movie the production quality was that good.
Dean's face when he realised he was working with Eliot Ness - PRICELESS! If ever a guy needed a little light in his life now - this was a very healthy distraction. The female!Bobby counterpart for Ness - she was awesome. Heh. Awesome...nah it's nothing to do with religion....;-)
I am soooo glad Dean is such a film geek - where would he be without his lil Back to The Future device? And Jody going all 'Mom' on Sam's ass and making him go to bed. You know I totally saw her coming and draping a blanket over his giant body if that scene hadn't been interrupted by the Winchesters being totally in tune with each other.
I need to watch it again. There's a lot to look at. Jody was just brilliant - I could totally get on board with her becoming a regular and any episode is a win if she's still alive by the end of it.
But what's this? No new show till the 3rd of Feb now...woe is me. Hmmmm I feel some early season rewatches coming on!

And see, yes, it is lovely because while they are all completely adorable (I may use that word all day. Adorable, adorable, adorable) together, the moment Dean finds out that there's no automatic way home for him in the '44 plan - he doesn't freak out at Ness or Lila, he goes straight to 'Must contact Sam! He can fix this!' Also that his letter was about two thirds practical information to one third being a geek at Sam about the 40s and Eliot Ness. Because obviously he has to tell Sam about that immediately. :)

I loved how tirelessly Sam worked at finding a way to get Dean back and how geeked out Dean was in the 40's. Though he STILL had Sam on his mind and worked out a way to contact him.. ADORES!!
Imagine everything Dean will be wanting to tell Sam when they have a moment together. *happy sigh* So nice to see Dean actually happy.

The house Kronos lived in 1944 was the same one they used in Magnificent Seven - I posted photos from the 2010 Vancon tour of a comparison.
I loved everything about this ep. First thing I thought of this morning when I woke up was that I needed rewatch this morning. :)

Date: 2012-01-15 07:16 am (UTC)YES YES to so much of this (only I'm actually enjoying the Leviathans. I think because Dick is SO smarmy and I actually like the idea of a corporate monster. So close the the truth. I actually though Lucifer would have been more like this style of monster).
I also groaned during "then". I was slightly spoiled for this ep and I though.. ok, this is where we learn that Bobby didn't really die, or they find a way of going back in time and fixing it. I SO don't want that. In fact, the "now" seemed to have little to do with the ep. Only to remind us of Jody.
JODY!! SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS CHARACTER! God, I hope they don't kill her off. I know death is what it's all about, but surely the boys can be given some reprieve.
YES! Sam's face when he showed Jody the note was PRICELESS!

Date: 2012-01-14 08:46 pm (UTC)Sam and the Sheriff were great together. You know Dean's not talking about grief or anything related to Bobby so it's great Sam had Jodi to drink with and share Bobby stories. A kind of a wake for Bobby and maybe Rufus and Jodi's family too.
This one must have been blast to act or do lighting or sets or costumes for. It looked so cinematic.
And did I mention THE CARS?

The didn't dwell and it wasn't morose. Same with Dean's attempt at feeling sorry for himself and his life (and yeah, he has damn good reason to) it was great to hear from a hunter that didn't get in to it because of death of a family member. It just might help Dean get through instead of burying himself in alcohol.

Even though you KNOW he isn't going to die it was played so convincingly. I loved that Sam picked up the weapon and knew to strike it in the heart. I'm pretty sure we only saw Dean learn about that so we can assume that Sam read about it. OH BOYS!!
