Multi Fandom Vid!

I haven't had a chance make a whole vid recently (boo!) but I have been doing a little bit of vidding as part of The Great ETV Vidding Experiment. (ETV = Expanding the Verse)

Six vidders took part. We each received a short section of music and had to produce a vid (around 40 secs) to the show of our choice. We didn't know what each other had produced until organiser, starrylizard, glued it altogether. That's part of the fun of these experiments (there's been a few now).

I think this one turned out really well. The theme was "happy". The selected song has lyrics about battling on no matter what. So even though there's a lot of happy moments in the vid, it's also dotted with some more heartfelt moments.

I really enjoyed vidding something other than SPN. It's harder though because I don't know the other shows (and where to find the clips I want) as well as SPN.

You have just hit upon something from one of our previous discussions I hadn't thought about.

You love vidding SPN cause you know where stuff is. If you need one particular scene, you know where it is. I, on the other hand, continually vid material I'm unfamiliar with. When I need something I have to go search the show in its entirety.

We each like that style where you can pick off the shelf while I love to go hunting. But on this one you actually got a good glimpse into what I do for each and every vid I do.

Yeah. I have to say I much prefer to be familiar with the footage. Not only because I know where to find it, but to also make sure I'm using it in the correect context.

I love vidding SPN because I adore the show and am heavily invested it in. These days though it's getting harder to remember where all the scenes are because there are so many episodes.

We are very different vidders. As much as I really enjoyed doing this, I prefer knowing all the episodes inside out. I just need to get more familiar with them (which probably won't happen because not enough time!)
