Anyone have any ideas on how I could create a list of movies that could be checked of if (and when) they are seen?



I recently created a list of all the movies Dean references in the show. There's over 150. I thought it might be fun if fans wanted to check off the films they have seen against his list. Anyone know of a way I could do that? Via Facebook maybe? Maybe there's a movie list generating website out there that could help? (Or maybe it's a silly idea...)

The other thing that would be really cool is if I could add a couple of columns on this list that lists the film's date and genre. I think it would be a great way to see, at a glance, if Dean favours a particular era or genre (and of course PIE CHARTS!).

But I simply don't have the time to reference over 150 movies. I thought maybe if there were a few people with some time on their hands (yeah, I know...pretty difficult) we might be about to split up the work. Perhaps a season each?

(You know all this came about because of him never having watched It's a Wonderful Life!?! Damn you show!!)

Oh yay! That'd be great. I figure if I can get, say 5 people it'll make the job a lot easier. It's just a matter of checking IMDB - shouldn't be too much work...:)

Haven't decided yet whether to break it up per season or in alphabetical blocks like the list. Probably the latter as it will be easier to keep track off.

I'll get back to you hun, when (and if) it looks like a go! :)

Thanks sweetie! And I hear you, that's what my work load is looking like. I have a xmas gift exchange vid to make which I really have to start AND the OTW vid is still happening (argh…plus I wanted to get S7 and 8 motels done). And that's just the fandom stuff…;)

At first I was amazed there were so many, but since we're up to 176 episodes and there's usually a reference in each episode, it makes sense!

I can do some of the research if you need more help.

Yeah, I was surprised also, but as you say, lots of episodes now.

And this doesn't even include all the other references the other characters make. Sam says a few, but nothing compared to Dean.

And thanks. Looks like there could be 4 of us working on it, so it might be doable. :)

The only site I can think of at the moment is https://listography.com and I don't think that's quite what you're going for.
If only LJ polls allowed for unlimited ticky boxes.

And that list site looks interesting. I tell you, that think of everything don't they? I'll check it out to see if it could work for something like this.

While I may technically not have a lot of free time I think I'd make time for the second task because massive geek here plus fast typist and googlier. I'd be willing to take a season.
