Hi guys.

Um... I'm doing some research and I'm needing a little assistance.

Can anyone rec me some vids made by guys? I've seen the Buffy V Twilight one, but I'm needing to broaden my viewing experience. Any fandom is fine. Though SPN would be great as that's the one I'm most familiar with.

Thanks so much if you can assist.

PS: Quality is not the issue here necessarily .... just I don't personally know any male fandom vidders (other than the one that doesn't want me to give him honest congrit..) so anything is fine, whether you think it's great or not...

Yeah, it's interesting isn't? I had no idea either, but I suppose even though this looks like a lot compared to the amount of female vidders it's quite small.

With regards to my research - I'm investigating whether men edit or make different styles and types of vids to women. This is not for any ulterior motive but just because this question has been asked of me and quite frankly I don't know the answer. So I wanted to take a look and then realised I didn't know many male vidders.

But wow! I do now.... :) I'll be checking out your work ... ;)

I don't know that you'll find "male" editing intrinsically different than "female". *shrug* My guess would be that, if anything differed noticably across gender lines, it might be subject matter and content. I would hazard to guess men might choose different subject matter than women. But then again we might not. :)

But if anything, my editing will probably only tell you what a newbie I am. :PPP

My guess would be the same. I'll be curious to see though if there are any similar themes in say content, story lines or particular fandoms or films. *meep* daunting prospect.

when you do your comparison, use the vids submitted to Vividcon as your comparison. I find Vividcon vids to be trend setting and show shifts in vidding culture.

The very same thought occurred to me during this. I only have the many SPN vids I watched over the years - not multi-fandom ones.
