9.23 reaction
May. 21st, 2014 07:55 pmI had a huge reaction post written out but decided it was far too negative and started to make me cry so I decided not to post it.
I will say that I didn't mind watching the episode (made all the better because I had
I love these characters too much to see them wasted like this. To have them at odds all season just so we can have "near" apology scenes and confessions of "I lied". :(
For a whole season to mean absolutely nothing. To have gone absolutely no where. *sobs* (and not the good *sobs* - only S8 and S9 have reduced me to tears over loss of the show I fell in love with).
I need more time to process. I'm sure I will shake these blues away and find something salvageable here.
Though I'm thinking until Carver leaves I'll never see the Sam and Dean I grew to love.
I'd say they've already created their spin off. We watched it this season.
(PS: please, if you loved it and want to squee please feel free. I need to know it's worth hanging on to. I need to know that this is just all part of a plan to build this show back to something we recognise. I need to know that they didn't make Sam say important stuff only to have it completely and utterly ignored for a reason. I need to know that this hasn't just become the worst, predictable, most boring, fan servicing pile of... )

Date: 2014-05-23 12:36 pm (UTC)I feel loyal and still hooked even though I don't want to be. I truly wish I was so bored and feed up that I could be done with it. But even now, I have this desire to nut all this out and then see what happens next season. The brothers aren't what we remember and some parts of me accept that they have to grow up and change, but on the other hand I hate them turning them into characters we don't recognise. Sam as a brother who wouldn't look for Dean when he was missing and Dean as a brother who would abuse Sam to the extent of allowing a non con possession. Just not the characters we used to cheer for. Not those kinds of heroes any more.
I suppose the Js were never going to be able to keep up the work load they used to so I kind of understand them having to create a whole new world of characters to dil the gaps. I just wish those characters were a little more interesting. Metatron is the least interesting character in the history of characters. I would have gladly seen Lucifer or Abaddon with as much screen time. But not him.
And BLARGH he's still around.
Oh and Sheppard's a regular as well as Misha? Ok, yeah. i can see we're in for another round of Demons and Angels then. I wonder if they dare pair Cas and Sam and then Crowley and Dean? I'd actually like to see Crowley try to regain hell with Dean as his Knight. But if they do that they lose their MoTW hunting brothers and I wonder if they'd change the formula that much? Hmmmm...
New show. As I said - they already have their spin off. ;)
