9.23 reaction
May. 21st, 2014 07:55 pmI had a huge reaction post written out but decided it was far too negative and started to make me cry so I decided not to post it.
I will say that I didn't mind watching the episode (made all the better because I had
I love these characters too much to see them wasted like this. To have them at odds all season just so we can have "near" apology scenes and confessions of "I lied". :(
For a whole season to mean absolutely nothing. To have gone absolutely no where. *sobs* (and not the good *sobs* - only S8 and S9 have reduced me to tears over loss of the show I fell in love with).
I need more time to process. I'm sure I will shake these blues away and find something salvageable here.
Though I'm thinking until Carver leaves I'll never see the Sam and Dean I grew to love.
I'd say they've already created their spin off. We watched it this season.
(PS: please, if you loved it and want to squee please feel free. I need to know it's worth hanging on to. I need to know that this is just all part of a plan to build this show back to something we recognise. I need to know that they didn't make Sam say important stuff only to have it completely and utterly ignored for a reason. I need to know that this hasn't just become the worst, predictable, most boring, fan servicing pile of... )

Date: 2014-05-24 07:28 am (UTC)Dean is no ordinary demon now, he is a Knight of Hell by virtue of the Mark. We know how powerful that made Abaddon. Dean no longer has his humanity. He was dangerous before, but the way he was then will look like a fluffy puppy in comparison now that he has all scruples and moral boundaries totally stripped away. I think he'll either turn on Crowley to try to kill him as soon as he sees a chance, or he will challenge Crowley for the throne. Remember how vicious Dean became under Alistair's tutelage? Well his soul was still human then. I think Crowley has unwittingly unleashed the equivalent of a nuclear weapon.
I think he is going to have to end up trying to help Sam find a way to restore Dean's humanity to save his own skin. I think Sam won't trust him as far as he can throw him but will grudgingly accept his help. Crowley may end up in a lose/lose position. Do nothing and have Dean slaughter him. Help Sam and risk Sam killing him the moment he is no longer of any use.
That's the way I see things going but knowing the writers it will be totally different. I do think it's quite amusing to see so many people saying that demon!Dean will be even more protective of Sam. There is no way - he isn't human anymore and it will most likely be Dean trying everything to stop Sam from changing him back.
