[Poll #2011057]

This might not work, but I'm keen to try it. I have a heap of thoughts about this episode. So many I'm not really sure where to start. So, instead of writing it all down, how about you share what you thought and we can chat about it? OR ask me a specific question and I'll answer it. That way the conversation will become the episode reaction. If that makes any sense (if not, I'll write something up later…*g*).

I adore talking about the show and accept the individual responses to it. I won't harsh your squee, nor will I spew rainbows over your discontent. At the moment I'm all over the damn place about the episode. I could squee and I could bitch. I saw brilliance and I saw major fail. I'm just…what is this show?! How dare you make me care so much when I see through your contrivance.

In other words…I need to talk!

Castiel will allow himself to be destroyed before he ever EVER steps up and stops Dean going full on off the reservation!

Sam's breaking my heart, quite literally, but finally we get to see that he IS capable and WILLING to save Dean. No more Sammy ney saying thank goodness!

I did actually enjoy it, quite a bit! And next week is scaring the holy hell out of me.

Meaning he'd let Dean go off the reservation without using his angel powers? If so, I wonder why? I thought maybe it was maybe Cas didn't want to hurt Dean (and felt he deserved the beating after Charlie) but if Cas would rather be destroyed over saving Dean then that's interesting…

but finally we get to see that he IS capable and WILLING to save Dean. No more Sammy ney saying thank goodness!

Hee, well. I have rather major thinky about this. I think we've always seen and known that Sam would do anything for Dean. He's always been willing and definitely capable. For me, I saw strength in him saying that he WOULDN'T cross certain lines to save Dean last season. I actually thought Sam was seeing the devastation they cause when they continue to sacrifice themselves, others and the world to save each other. But, it seems not. I do love their crazy, ridiculous love but at the moment everyone is telling Sam what he already worked out last season (lying is bad!!!), so now we have Sam being the only one apparently not seeing it. Dean now "gets" it and has been trying to convince Sam, but in some sort of ironic way Sam now HAS to save Dean in order to save the world. Pretty screwy stuff!! (it's the part I really love about the show…*g*). Sam actually has no real option now (whereas Dean actually did have options when he brought Sam back from the dead) - if he doesn't stop Dean many innocent people could suffer.

It will be interesting to see what Sam lets loose into the world when he casts a spell to save Dean. If it means that he does something to Dean that he knows he'll hate (like when he let Sam be possessed) then they'll be making an awesome statement. Not sure it will go there, but I'll be impressed if it does…:)

(sorry, that was long winded. Said stuff that I was going to say in my review…;D)

Oh no no no, what I meant was, the non Sammy girls, or the people who've been finding reason after reason for the last ten years to bitch and whine and say that Sammy isn't willing or capable of the kind of saving that Dean does can now, in the immortal words of said older Winchester...BLOW ME! *sniggers*

It's just nice to see that for the Hellatus I won't be hearing how, "Sammy's not a hard enough worker at trying to help his big - apparently unable to do any wrong - brother!"

I love each brother equally, and each of them is a codependent mess, which is WHY when I hear people going all out against one or the other I want to shake a fella or lass and say, "Have you not WATCHED this show, have you not seen they've both done for and against each other and both thrown themselves down the pit, quite literally!" *ahem*

Sorry, so sorry this was not gonna end up a rant...and yet!

I'm looking forward to seeing how they play this finale out, that's for sure! *hugs*

Misha said at JIB that Cas allowed himself to be beaten up by Dean...I can't remember why.

That's what I'm talking about, I think, as much as Dean needs Cas to say he'll be the *one* to end it so Sammy doesn't have to suffer that pain, Cas loves him just as much and he will NEVER do it!

Ahhh, oh man, I am beyond sick of constantly hearing how Sam is a bad brother because he "can't" save Dean. The show hasn't made it easy on him (help S8!), but Sam has been there for Dean SO many times - it's just that some people don't want to see it. And, tbh, I think there's a journey storyline to Sam failing in the "big" save. I just SERIOUSLY hope that they don't let Cas do the saving in the finale - not after S4. Sam has got to have a win - he's GOT to be able to show Dean that he's capable of saving him. And I HOPE that Dean is finally able to see that. :)

So yep! I hear ya! There are SO many times I want to rant!

(and now this is buried in a thread I can say that I spoke to someone who watches the show regularly but isn't as involved as :koff: some of us and said to me "Sam is so dark and stupid this season" and I'm just…what the hell?! Hee, anyway I ranted and stated my side of things and maybe I convinced her that not only has Sam lost his voice this season but after what happened to him last season how can anyone blame Sam for trying to do everything to save Dean?! Why is it ok that Dean does the worse thing he could to save Sam and yet Sam not burning a spell book to save Dean is the WORSE THING EVER!).

Well good on YOU for maybe changing a perception of our boy because quite frankly (and yes, thank the lord it's now buried in a thread) I am SICK TO THE BACK TEETH of having to defend a man who already has to defend himself constantly. He *is* an amazing guy who simply needs the chance to see himself the way Dean sees him, or Jody or Charlie for that matter. All he sees is the freak and the disappointment. God it riles me so *ahem* seriously, sorry luv, it wasn't meant to turn into a rantymcranty comment thread!

As for Cas doing the saving...*O_O* please please don't let that happen, simply because I will lose a little more faith in the way in which Sammy gets 'written' and 'handled' surely by now they know that they've gotta give him the chance he deserves!

People seem to forget that Dean's always been in *big bro* mode which makes it very hard for the little bro to break out on his own and do the things he's capable of, or get recognised *for* doing those things, when he's lived in that shadow his whole life.

xx

- Exactly my saying. Thank you for bringing this up too, dear Milly. Good to know I'm not the only one who had noticed that Cas was holding back because he won't fight his best and beloved friend.
He simply won't. Whatever the costs.
