Vid notes

I could be listening to anything and I picture a vid to it. (Honestly my daughter has Taylor Swift's song "You belong to me" playing 24/7 and I've been picturing a vid to that! *runs*). So when I heard this song recently it just seemed like a good idea to make a vid to it. *meep*

I really just wanted to play with some of the lyrics and take a look at the boys working lives. Also gave me an excuse to clip from one of my favourite episodes "It's a Terrible Life".

That really was great. The beginning was excellent with the quick cuts to that ominous Dolly Parton beat. I love her, BTW, and I love vids where the song and the source seem disparate, but actually totally work. This is really my kind of vid, because it uses humor and campiness to sell a serious idea-- that work is work, no matter what kind it is. Admittedly, I'd prefer to have a calling than work a boring wage job ( and actually I have both!), but you still have to show up everyday and do repetitive tasks. I like how this vid makes it look like Sam and Dean work in an office by day and hunt at night. I'm downloading this one for keeps.

Me too. I have had a lot of comments that people would never have imagined SPN with a Dolly Parton song. I have to admit I was wary about it when the idea first popped into my head, but I liked the idea of juxtaposing a normal 9 to 5 job to the job the boys do. It was also a chance to turn some of those lyrics on their head. ;)
