2015: The Year That Was (fannish roundup)

I feel like I've been less fannish this past year than ever before. And yet, when I reflect on the year it looks like I made one more vid than I did the year before (8), I still did ep reviews (hee, only "just" at times) and I was pretty busy on twitter with a new twitter account I started (One Perfect SPN Shot). So, maybe I was still a little bit fannish. ;)

I still really love making vids but they take so damn long that I find I have little time (and patience!) to really get stuck in. It's still a great creative outlet for me so I hope to keep dabbling with them in the new year. :)

I've enjoyed twitter this past year. The people I follow are very entertaining and it seems like a good way to keep up to date with fannish stuff going on. I still love LJ, but I found that I didn't visit it as regularly as I used to. I've enjoyed finding and posting cinematographic shots to @spn_shot. It's been a great way to learn about each director's style. I've been going through the seasons and I did kind of hit a roadblock when I got to S8 and S9. But my aim for 2016 is to keep posting.

haha! I kept it quiet because I just wanted to see how it went. I've been blown away by how many followers it has AND the response it's had from the directors and come of the actors in the show. It's been a nice buzz. :) I really enjoyed finding clips to the re-watchers in the beginning. It really helped me get started and stay focussed. :)))

And THANK YOU for your never ending support of my vids. It really does mean a lot to me. <333

I've missed having you on here, Twitter is just too --- I dunno. Time consuming, scattered, chaotic, and I find it feels more cliquey than LJ, which seems a bizarre thing to say when LJ is the place with closed groups and journals and Twitter is all exposed.

Yeah, I'm conscience that I haven't been here as much lately. I do my best to check it out, but some days I just don't get to it. ;( But I agree about your assessment of twitter. I think I mostly just sit back and look at what everyone is talking about. Occasionally I post stuff, but it's so fraught. People really don't like any sort of crit of the show over there (that I've noticed). Or, if they do, it's ONLY crit. Agh, I can't explain it.

I think LJ is better because there's an open invitation to comment if you are on someone's f-list. With twitter, it doesn't feel that way (or on tumblr for that matter).

Well, I didn't say anything. I wanted to see how it went and I wanted to keep it separate from "me" (for some reason). I thought I'd mention it on my LJ because it's ended up being something I'm quite proud of. :)

I'm so glad you're still hanging in with us on LJ. I'm happy that Twitter is a new playground, and you're having fun. It's great that lots of new people have found you and follow your talented posts. I tend to stick pretty close to LJ though, with side-trips to Tumblr. There're only so many hours in the day, and I'm a slow old rabbit. So it's nice to know you'll still be sharing your episode insights (LOVE the visual-cinematic analyses!) and vids. LJ wouldn't be the same without them, or without you.

I can't see myself leaving LJ completely - it's the only place for decent discussions and interaction. I enjoy twitter, but mostly as an observer. And the same for tumblr. :)

I'll try and share more cinematic posts on LJ this year. I have a heap of screen caps - so maybe I'll do some theme posts (I'm thinking aloud here, but I might just try and do that *g*).

I'm so happy you are still around here, posting and squeeing (and complaining) about Show. It keeps me semi attached to fandom when otherwise I would have.. probably never gotten into it in the first place. lol ;D

I'm suddenly having images in my head that not only Sam and Dean are aged hunters with walking frame- but also us fans are white haired, toothless old folk, still cheering on their fav characters! haha haha haha omg. lol

Thanks for the vid link. That looks wild! It reminds me of new year's in Amsterdam, where the streets and skies were filled with random fireworks. It's amazing to me because in Australia fireworks are banned - so we only ever have the organised events. Perth don't do them at New Year (well, a small one), they save it for Australia Day - Jan 26th).

I hope 2016 is wonderful for you honey. <3333 I'm looking forward to new SPN eps. I have no idea what we'll be in for but I'm pretty sure it's going to hurt!

Ok so this is an old post but I had to comment cos heeee! One Perfect SPN Shot!!! I knew it was you! Ok, I didn't really know, but I had a strong hunch somehow :D
I love this account! So many perfect shots! And I love how you collect and post similar stuff from different epis from time to time. Heck, I love everything you post there! We are really blessed with the cinematography on our show. It's perfect, even when some other things aren't sometimes ;)
