First up: You must check out
ancastar's Jo and Ellen vid Rabbit Hearted Girl (raise it up) It's a fabulous study of Jo and Ellen. The song is perfect for them and the whole feel of the vid is wonderful.
2. I've discovered my Fannish Bible recently in the guise of: Everybody's Free (to be Fannish) by
elizah_jane Just excellent. Even though I've been around here for a while now I always feel like a newbie. I just love the perspective this puts on everything. I particularly like:
"post"
Simple but god damn, when I'm hovering over that post button it comes in handy. :)
and also:
"Maybe you'll rise to BNFdom, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll write a popular series, maybe you won't. Maybe your vids will go largely ignored, maybe you're fanart will be linked to all over the place. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Fandom reaction isn’t always the best measure of the quality of your art. A lot is based on people’s kinks."
Though I'm always curious who the BNF's actually are...
3. 9 to 5 won some awards at Driver Picks the Music recently. That's nice. Really nice. I'm always pleasantly surprised when that happens. :)
4. PUDDING!:
I have to share this even though I know it's TMI, but the other night *chuckles* hubby does the pudding dance for me and as I was chortling and rolling my eyes I was about to say "On Supernatural the other night Dean did exactly....." stops there, because there is NO WAY he wants to here about either Show OR Dean at that moment... Oh my love. Never change. *snuggles him*
5. Film rec. There's this wonderfully delightful Australian film just released called Bran Nue Dae I love coming out of a film feeling truly uplifted. I also discovered that some of the kids I do Little Aths with were in some of the scenes. And it's set Western Australia. Fabulously energetic and celebratory.
6. Well, my lovely long break is coming to an end. I know I've spent far to much time and money drinking and eating in local cafes, but hey. It was the holidays. And they were fab. But I am not unhappy to be going back to work. I love my job and I'm looking forward to seeing the kids again.
*hugs* to you all. New vid tomorrow. Which I'm ridiculously nervous about.
