Oh dear...:(

We just got the call to say my daughter didn't make the final cut for the WA Nationals Team. :( She is devastated of course. A difficult thing for a 12 year old to understand. Even when we tell her she did well to get where she did. She was the best shot put thrower in the squad, but she needed another event and unfortunately she just wasn't able to demonstrate her potential during the trails.

Oh well. It's all part of life. Learning to deal with disappointment is all part of growing up I suppose. Sucks though.

I'm so sorry to hear it didn't work out for her and it is a shame growing can suck so much - you're so right that in life the disappointment has to take turns with the delights, taking away all competition wouldn't solve anything, but to see your own child have to struggle with it must be so hard for you. *hugs for both of you*

Thank you so much. Watching her heartbreak is particularly awful I have to say, but you gotta take the ups with the downs, especially in a competitive field. This is only the beginning as she starts to grow up I suspect.
