I was switching between view in my style and original style and became curious about what others did in regards to this and other stuff on LJ. I know I'm being nosey but I wondered if what I did was similar to you guys.

[Poll #1618224]

My answers: I view in "my style", I can't get out of the habit of html (even though rich text looks easier) and I visit LJ as often as I can. Sad but true. (though not so sad because the place makes me happy). :D Now... your turn.

Also. Welcome to new friends. Not sure what I did recently to garner the friendings but thanks. :D Drop me a line and say hi if you'd like me to friend you back. <33

If anything is light on dark I view in my style. If your journal (for example) had fic, I would read the fic in my style, because your font is too small for me to read that much comfortably, but I wouldn't switch for just a journal entry. Often times if ppl have custom comment turned off and I'm reading fic on my iPod, I will set it to my style because that set-up is full screen so I can't make the font bigger by making just the text-box bigger. I really like to see what other people have going on in their journal styles, though, and especially in my computer browser (as opposed to on my iPod), I really like to have the pages I have open look different from each other so I can more readily identify which page is which.

Rich text is IMPOSSIBLE. I've tried to use it a couple of times on other people's computers where they had it set to be on, and I cannot for the life of me make it work. HAAAAAAAAATE. html is much easier IMO.

and "visit" makes it sound like I go away. *g* If I'm on my computer I generally have at least three and often more like 30 different LJ tabs open, and I am constantly refreshing various of them. If I'm trying to get work done, I might minimize my browser, but rarely will more than half an hour go past that I am not checking my flist or a comm. Possibly when Adam Lambert stops touring I will be able to step away for longer periods even when I am online. If I'm afk, obviously I check less. Then I just tend to check my email, because the web on my phone is not easy.

Yay, thanks for sharing that.

It's interesting that my font is small... I suppose I have no idea how it compares to other fonts and LJ styles. Probably because I've had this one since I started here and never thought to change it. I probably should investigate that. Though not really sure how... (yet *g*)

I used to view in different styles until it got so I kept changing back all the time. Though I will often switch over to see what other people have done.

And it's not just me that can't get used to rich text? I'm so used to typing up the code I'm finding it hard to used to another way. Curious though... I thought it might have been easier.

Hee! "visit" - yeah, that's my vocab. :) So um... 30 tabs eh? Wow... so that would be for individual journals? Or...? (Now I'm feeling like a newbie all over again). I just refresh my friends page or go back to the last entry I saw each time I open LJ.

Thanks so much. Interesting...

(Love your icon. Too true. :) )

LOL I love that I always think I am going on and on, but you always like it :D

Yeah, your font is about half the size of mine. Because I post a lot of fic, I have mine bigger than most people's so that it's easier for people to read. on my computer mine comes out about the size of 12 point font on word if I have my word set at 100%. Yours is more like 6. Which, it's not too hard to read for short things, just (maybe I'm getting old, or maybe it's my laser-corrected nearsightedness) strains me for more than a few hundred words.

I guess if you know nothing about html rich text might be easier, but like, getting cuts to work and anything more complicated than italics, I just can't wrap my head around it.

What I tend to do is open my email, and then if ppl have replied to comments I open all those next to my email tab. so I might have two to five of my own entries open at any given time, depending on how many I've posted and what people are still replying to. Then I have my friends page open, and open anything I want to read or comment on from there in a new tab. then, if someone does a ficrec post, I might have another set of tabs opened from that, or if it's just a few things, I'll drag them into my flist tab section. Then, with Adam on tour, I have [livejournal.com profile] teamratbert tabs open, between 2 and 20, depending on how epic the concert is and how good I am at closing the ones people aren't replying to.

Then during the day I'll read and reply to the flist posts, check my flist again and open more, reply to comments, refresh the pages of my entries to make sure I haven't missed comments, refresh the TR posts to see what Adam and his band and fans are up to. I never close my browser, and I have it set to open all the last tabs in the rare cases I do. Even in the event that doesn't work, my browser "home page" is my gmail, my flist, my twitter, and my DW, so I never ever actually 'close' LJ.

oh god. and you've got me blah blahing again and I need to finish packing! I am just always so interested in how other people use the internet and LJ. :D
