Notes
I've been wanting to vid Sam's speech from Houses of the Holy for ages. It breaks me every time - looking back and knowing how much Sam suffered, even though he was saved from his so called destiny. For me this vid is about being able to use images to express what I think of when I now hear that speech. I could write an essay about all this - why I chose each image, the connections etc. so if something doesn't make sense feel free to ask...;)
ETA: The "essay" mentioned above. The whys and wherefores of my clips choices etc.
No money made but comments are gratefully and warmly accepted. <33

Edited for another thought: I suddenly realized that this scene being from where Cas opened the door for Sam, shows Cas really enabling Sam's dark destiny. So we can see what bad will happen while Sam still so hopefully shakes the angel's hand for the first time.
However, my first feeling of this was how Cas nearly "surrounded" Sam from both sides, destined to be part of Sam's destiny.
/ thinky thoughts ;)

Date: 2012-06-02 09:21 am (UTC)I have SO much to say about this. I am going to write up some deeper notes on this vid. Mainly because it's something I've always wanted to do but also so I can explain my choices here in more depth (so stay tuned).
I will say I hadn't considered that Cas was destined to be part of Sam's destiny. It's a lovely idea. We always connect Cas with Dean, but looking at it like that he's very much connected to Sam as well. I mean, he IS connected because of the things he's done but I never considered it to be pre-destined.
Interesting...
I'll have more to say later.
*hugs* (thanks for the thinky and the question...)
