I am considering (considering) opening a topic for discussion on whether destiel will become canon in the show sometime soon.

Yeah, I think that perfectly nails what I was trying to get at earlier without being able to eloquently say it. SPN needs to settle down and work on telling the story they already have in front them. Getting a consistent characterization for Cas would help a lot. They have a enough trouble with big things like continuity, let alone tackling a subject that needed to be handled sensitively with a maturity which eludes this show with the ease of water flowing through a sieve.

On a completely different subject, I'm impressed as hell so far with what a great bunch of thoughtful comments people have contributed here. Ya'll are awesome.
