No. I won't bore you with how hard this vid was for me. Well .... maybe a little bit. There are a lot of firsts for me here. Not only the subject matter but the use of out-sourced footage, effects I've never used before and the fact that I never thought I'd make an AU vid in my (vidding) life. It's damn hard and I have immense admiration for vidders who achieve it.
I primarily wanted to explore the links between violence and sex, the power play between the brothers and how they communicate their desires.
I know there are flaws here. And I could probably work on it for another month to iron them all out, but enough is enough. I'm happy with this. It's ended up being more than I imagined when I started out.
Feedback will be cherished. *bites nails*

Date: 2009-04-02 04:06 pm (UTC)Anyway, congrats on your first AU vid! They are exhausting aren't they? ;) definitely a different sort of vid for you but that's the best part as a vidder...getting to try something new (even though it can drive you crazy when you're actually making it :P)
I think you did a great job incorporating the other footage. I loved how you had it interwoven with the music, gave it kind of a rock music video feel. And you could definitely feel the tension between the boys.
Hope to see some other AU's from you :)
Oh, and have you tried Bam Vid Vault yet? It's copyright-problem free.

Yes! I've never felt as frustrated and exhausted with a vid as this one. It was like ripping out teeth.
gave it kind of a rock music video feel
Wow. You know, my very first thought about this vid that was I wanted it to be like a MTV video. I think that was why I was determined to try some split screen stuff - but that whole idea became secondary once I realised what I had actually set out to do. Maybe it still leaked through a bit. :D

I have to recover first!! I definitely have something fluffy and maybe crackish lined up for my next one....
Steph mentioned the Bam Vid Vault. I didn't end up trying it this time, but it sounds like something I need to investigate.
