Vid notes
No. I won't bore you with how hard this vid was for me. Well .... maybe a little bit. There are a lot of firsts for me here. Not only the subject matter but the use of out-sourced footage, effects I've never used before and the fact that I never thought I'd make an AU vid in my (vidding) life. It's damn hard and I have immense admiration for vidders who achieve it.

I primarily wanted to explore the links between violence and sex, the power play between the brothers and how they communicate their desires.

I know there are flaws here. And I could probably work on it for another month to iron them all out, but enough is enough. I'm happy with this. It's ended up being more than I imagined when I started out.

Feedback will be cherished. *bites nails*

Wow, powerful stuff! For me, you achieved what you set out to do. The choice of clips, how you've put them together, and the whole 'look' of the vid really work.

Wow! That was amazing! I'm kind of floored--I so rarely view vids, but the premise sounded interesting. I'm so glad I clicked. The music and images meshed up perfectly, as did the other clips. (and great choice of music, btw.) The transitions were so smooth, and the color pulled everything together. Nice bit with the memories in black and white. I'm still in awe over this vid! The external footage alone makes me giddy just thinking about. Lots of times it never seems to blend just right with the vid but the effect you built here is killer!

Plus, you broke your AU cherry! Whoo! They are tough to pull off but when done right, like this is, they can produce some seriously powerful stuff. I just love how you always bring it back to the emotions. Yes, I do love me some porn clips, but imo, it's not over done here. It's perfectly balanced with the emotions that drive the vid. Bravo!

And the fact that this love/hate relationship is practically canon!? Only makes it that much better. :P

Very powerful (and hot)! Fantastic editing and a great AU. You blended the out-sourced footage in so well with the boys that it was easy to stay focused on what's happening in the video, not where the video came from. I also liked the bit with Ruby being in black and white; it does insinuate Sam's infidelity is the catalyst for the violence. However which way, this video was totally ~relevant to my interests~ and I'm glad you shared! I wish all the angst from this season could be resolved like this, haha.

Never thought you'd make something like this but you made me go "wooohooooo" and watch this vid with open mouth. Like, seriosuly, duuuuudeeeee....That was very hot, and very interesting. I really liked the idea of connection between violence and sex, and I think you totally managed to show it. I really liked the beats, and how you used the clips from 106 (for example) and turned the sense upside down. That was hoooot ;) Use of outside footage was really well done, really liked it. Where did you get from those hot clips, huh? =)
Also I really loved some of the "new" effects you used - very nifty ;) Now I'm not even sure if you use Sony vegas 8... lol

Your comment makes me want to bounce around the room. In all honesty I didn't think I'd ever make a vid like this - I heard the song and had this very vague idea of what I wanted to do. I've always wanted to attempt wincest and an AU. In the end I think I even surprised myself.

And no, I don't use vegas. I use Final Cut. I'm still finding new things to try.

The porn footage was sourced for me by my lovely beta _sharvie_. She did a great job of finding clips of bodies that could pass for the boys. (I had about 15mins worth - you should see the stuff I didn't use!)

Sorry I took so long to comment. I can't tell you how happy I am that you stuck with this project. You actually made thinky porn and it blows my mind! The sex/violence dichotomy was so beautifully captured and the outside footage so cleverly interwoven. The effects actually were integral to the vid and enhanced rather than detracted from your concept.

Wow, I really enjoyed that. I loved the way the punches fit the beat, the bit around 1:22ish made me shiver. And it's such a neat idea too, one that I think is really present within the show, the relationship between Sam and Dean, while not quite as extreme in canon, definitely has that constant tug of violence and anger against utter devotion. Beautifully executed.

Oh,this is sooooo very, very good!! I do love a well-done vid and this is beyond well-done.

You really struck a beautiful balance with the (perfect) music and the images from Show and the boytouching. The blues and the greens and the shadows with the touches of red worked so well too.

Also, it was incredibly hot! I love a little sex in my violence. That's either part of a song lyric or TMI...
